Why Volunteer?
“I’m thankful”
“I am grateful for the LEAD program, not only because it offers learners a chance to try something new, but also because of what it does for the tutor. This experience has been humbling and transformative, and I’m thankful to have been given the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Life enriching
“The LEAD program has truly enriched my life. It’s been an experience that has changed me and has made me understand the value of community and friendship with an entirely new lens.”

Find focus & make a difference
“I came to Evergreen with an unfocused view of what I wanted to do with my life. While I don’t have all the pieces put together, my involvement with LEAD was a key component in my decision to go into occupational therapy. LEAD is more than tutoring, it’s about providing a space to promote an individual’s independence and progress. As an occupational therapist, I hope to be a tool for clients to reach their own personal goals, much like I have been a resource to my partner in reaching her educational goals.”
